Printers Are Demons

I installed a new Brother HL-L2370DW laser printer today and was astonished at how easy it was to get it running. Plugged it into power and Ethernet and it just showed up in AirPrint, my Mac, and my spouse's Windows 10 machine.

I wonder if maybe part of the problem is Wi-Fi. Like the author in mid 2020 we picked up a Canon color inkjet photo printer, which has astonishingly high quality prints for the price, but is fickle with regards to its network connection. One time I tried to print high resolution TIFFs to 11x17 paper and the only way I could actually get it to work was to dig up a USB cable and direct connect. Every time I tried over the network it started to feed and then something would time out and it would just spit out a blank sheet.
