UK Bill of Rights exempts government from free speech protections

- You DO have freedom of speech from private companies, etc, as the government states to "stop free speech being whittled away by wokery and political correctness"
- You DO NOT have freedom of speech from the government "this section does not apply in criminal proceedings or of any question whether a provision of primary or subordinate legislation that creates a criminal offence is incompatible with a Convention right"
There is no right to free speech in England and Wales, never mind a law aganist the government from restricting speech in all but the worst circumstances (threats, child pornography, incitement to harm, etc.) but now the government and their supporters can say "yes there is!" while pointing to a 'bill of rights' which any speech-restricting law is overriding and can override in future.
