"Hey google, I'd like a search warrant for anyone with location histories that have missing/deleted entries and whose last known location was 2 blocks away from X". Silence can speak louder than words.

Also known as "You can't unring that bell."

Also premeditated destruction of State's evidence.

Also, "Why yes prosecutor, we do keep logs of every location data point we delete for our users."

Thank goodness that Google is staunchly committed to the right to privacy.

100% most facetious post evah!

I would love it if Google wouldn't ask if I wanted to post a review for the MacDonald's next to the Trader Joe's I always go to. So while I appreciate Google doing this, I would love a way to see where I am on the map without having to give XYZ rights to all my location data.

At moments like these we should realise America is as full of religious extremists as Saudi Arabia.

Please don't take HN threads into flamewar hell, regardless of how wrong people are or you feel they are. It's not what this site is for, and it destroys what it is for.

Religious flamewar hell and nationalistic flamewar hell are particularly to be avoided.

I did not think this observation would set the thread on a path for flamewar, but if you think it does, then what is a good way to show the significance of religious extremist impact?
