Playstation launches new subscription service at double original price

> Mark Griffith, director of the International Gaming Research Unit in the psychology department at Nottingham Trent University, told Sky News: "If you're a football fan of a specific team and the club puts their prices up, fans will still buy season tickets even in times of recession and inflation. Avid gamers are likely to do the same.

Cloud gaming changes this imo, while both cloud providers in australia are more expensive than even psdeluxe, xbox cloud's deals made me switch away from ps focus to PC/xbox focus, even on my super old laptop

I like to play games. But I've never been tempted to buy one of these subscription. When I have a new AAA game, it'll take me, maybe, three of four months to complete it. Then I sell the disc second hand and buy a new one.

The fear is that soon enough, you'll be required to have a subscription even for normal play. That can't be far off. Why give out all of this free playstation use, when you could charge for it?

I feel like the xbox Games Pass is such a great value for Microsoft, that doubling the price for PS pass premium tier is Sony shooting themself in the foot. Can't find a PS5, and when you do you have to spend more for a lesser online library of games.

Only winners are PC gamers, so I'm happy.

You will own nothing (no games, no apps, no movies, etc all gated under a subscription) and be happy.
