As someone not from the US I think you can relax about that. Whatever drives the conflicts of today looks differently. Or maybe my perception is off and it is a kind of a very aggressive, judgmental and vindictive form of love. More the form of love you see at passionate divorces.
But if it is about grand proclamations on social media, it very likely is competition. And how can it be real love if you post 10 hearts and you could have posted 20? Do you even try here?
