The US does not want to destroy TSMC. There was a paper advocating for a scorched earth policy to deter China from invading Taiwan.

They do, they prep supply chain to not depend on them already, and are moving some parts elsewhere, no fire, no explosion needed, can't do 2 Beirut

And it's not just TSMC, they are already, yet again, forcing their supposed "allies" from EU to comply

Perhaps to get replaced with Wallmarts? for more US presence
