Nope. The only reason I work on a terminal is that I never have to take my hand off the keyboard.
But the touch ID sensor is on the keyboard!

I'm no mac user so I can't test it myself, but does this mean you can't associate multiple fingerprints with one identity on macOS?

You can, you just won't be able to hit the fingerprint reader without taking your fingers off the home keys, except for the little finger on your right hand (giant monster hands excluded).
