This conclusion is from a really weird perspective. These bots were put in place originally so that companies didn't have to pay real humans to answer calls. The bots are decorated to be human-like, but people still understand them to be bots and not people, hence the behavior. Instead of conflating how people treat machines with actual cases of abuse and harassment, this author should be advocating for the disposal of these bots and for real people to take these responsibilities instead.
