Oftentimes constraints are a feature. What was the title of the paper and what did you winnow it down to? If the latter is clearer, then maybe the constraint does more good than bad
Sometimes I wish HN comes with a poll to see how popular these feature requests are. You don't exactly want to downvote a suggestion, but I think things like this and the lack of notifications are fine.
