Thinking the same thing, right out of Spook Country.
Read that a year or two ago, but I only started Reading Pattern Recognition a week ago (not sure how I ended up reading them out of order).
Don't feel bad, I did as well. Or maybe "am as well" would be more apt, since I read Spook Country, then Zero History, and haven't started Pattern Recognition yet.
augh. I read it only to find this out too. Not sure if I am going to read the other two though, to be honest... it's no sprawl trilogy..
