AT&T fiber hits 20 Gbps with 'Hyber-Gig' network test

9to5Mac needs a proofreader. It's "Hyper-Gig" as shown in the screenshot of the AT&T ad in the article.

"Hyber-Gig" doesn't even make sense.

Doesn't really matter what AT&T does in their labs. Until they deploy fiber throughout their network, you'll still be limping along at copper speeds.

You won't be limping along at copper speeds anywhere they've deployed their fiber product, which is still expanding.

We've had it in 2 different states now for several years and it's been a fantastic product.

It's still only copper where I am, and my ADSL bill subsidizes the deployment of fiber to richer neighborhoods than mine. :(

I’m very happy with mine (Raleigh, NC area)

I have no real use for these speeds, but I want it anyway.

this is the dilemma we have as well. We don't even come close to saturating the 1gig package we have now. :)

But getting 5 gig speeds? sure!

home networking hardware is the bottleneck now, really.
