Ask HN: Where to find designers with old Mac apps aesthetics?

Do they even exist?

What I am especially looking for are folks who can create webpages for apps in the old mac style, before the whole flat movement took over.

As a designer I feel more than capable of designing anything you want and iterate on it until you are truly happy. (And as a web developer I can even build it for you, if it's a web app.) The reason my portfolio doesn't have anything I could show you as an example is mainly because it does not sell nowadays. It's not the thing the world wants – since too long. But maybe we can come to an agreement... You can reach out to me on hn (complicated symbol) csakegyhonlap.hu (never mind the home page, it's... not what you're after, and foreign). I have way too many years sunk into design to really stick to a particular style only. I am pragmatic – I do what I'm paid for. There were a few direction changes along my journey.

You want Aqua UI like this, right? https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-22f0e0539f2a9ed0d80aed...

You can achieve this on Windows / Mac / Linux / Android / iOS with CopperSpice, a Qt4 fork which continues to receive updates. You would use the QMacStyle class: https://www.copperspice.com/docs/cs_api/class_qmacstyle.html

Could you be a bit more specific ? The original Mac UI looked pretty flat to me.

Have you put out an RFP to established design firms?

Do you mean the skeuomorphism design trend?

my suggestion: go on dribbble and search skeuomophism, then reach out to designers who have designs you like
