This is kind of a crap article that adds nothing new and contains basic factual errors. It's true that the Zumwalt class destroyers are a failed program, however the final design was never intended to "provide antiaircraft support to the US Navy's fleet". Their primary mission was supposed to be land attack (which they never really fulfilled). They have only limited anti-aircraft capabilities for self defense.
At least, for a while it was under the command of Captain James Kirk.
