Tell HN: EAP versions of IntelliJ apps now default to a JDK17-based JBR

The out-of-box performance is now much better out of the box on Linux -- the difference is like night and day. This is great news!

"Better rendering performance on macOS, as JetBrains Runtime 17 leverages Metal API"

"A significant performance improvement allowing faster and smoother IDE operation."

is the more relevant sentence, but they don't make a big deal about it, even though it's likely the single change with the greatest impact in this EAP release.

I care as much about OSX performance as much as JB have about Linux users over the past few years in this regard: not one iota.

In the JetBrains Runtime section of

https://blog.jetbrains.com/idea/2022/05/intellij-idea-2022-2...

they don't even mention Linux. I am grateful that this change has been made, but it has been miserable to use without it.
