Duh! It was bound to happen, the payment models for Android and Apple are not sensible for apps whose job is to deliver paid content.

Like you allude to, there's more than one payment model on these platforms. Netflix worked it out and I'm guessing Amazon might be able to as well.

Netflix didn't work it out — you can't sign up for Netflix on a phone.

I thought that changed when they launched Games.

Netflix's stock appears to be doing significantly worse than the market, though, so it seems like maybe they're still figuring some stuff out?
