I remember getting a new computer with 320 gigabytes of storage when I went to college. Someone asked me what I could ever use that much space for.
Still, 30TB seems like an ocean.
My parent’s first PC had a 20 MB hard disc, of which only 6 MB where ever used (mostly by MS-DOS, Word for DOS, Turbo C and Turbo Pascal). My first PC had a 160 MB hard disc IIRC (and 8 MB of RAM).
Rather than 30 TB HDDs I’d rather have silent, long-lived 4-8 TB HDDs to build a NAS Raid from.
