I wonder what that'll look like performance-wise. VS 2022 regularly crashes on my work laptop, which is one of the better ThinkPads and has 32gb ram. And this is after the hyped-up move to 64 bit...

Well the amount of node processes spawned by VS has also grown exponentially with every new version.

Microsoft partnered with Qualcomm last year at its Build developer conference to create an Arm-based dev kit for developers to build native Arm64 apps for Windows.

Native support for non-Win32 platforms is great. Are they going to port the Win32 API? It'll be interesting to do assembler programming on a new architecture.

I've been running VSCode on M1 ARM natively for a while already.

The article says VS Code is getting a native ARM version. I think the author might have gotten something wrong? Sounds like VS is getting a native ARM version and other toolchains like dotnet are getting native ARM versions which will be supported by the already-existing native ARM VS Code.
