Continuations are a strange abstraction in that they seem very high-level, but at the same time they are glaringly obvious at the assembly language level if you know how to look for them.

If I'm not misguided, Landin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Landin) should be included in continuations history, his reification of jump was influential.

He's included in the discussion, is personally acknowledged, and four of the citations are to his works.
