This is a dumb article. I like it.

It's clear the author doesn't have a commercial goal, or really any goals imo, but is just playing around and tinkering. There is something really delightful about projects where there is no revenue or external goal that come up with some fun result.

He's the guy from b3ta.com, this is perfectly consistent with his approach to life over the past 21 years.

Some scientists don't even try to hide an obscene acronym:

I’m bummed that I didn’t think of this when I was publishing in academia.

As a postdoc, I had a friend acronym his pipeline for studying fungal genome to CRAP. I think our advisor nixed the paper title though.
