Air Force says it successfully tested hypersonic weapon

I feel they were already obsolete.

Sound + laser? Or is it too hot anyway?

There was thing I saw someone post, they put particulates in clouds and it ablates the projectile just because it's moving so fast already.

This probably makes no sense but I wonder if you can detect the static build up in the atmosphere as it flies using the low orbit constellation satellites... I mean I thought I read it was obvious how to detect them the heat they generate as they fly.

Static thing doesn't make sense no contact, perhaps disturbing rf "surface capacitance" on the Earth lol.

I'm not sure it changes the situation. You can go faster and try to evade missile defenses, or just overwhelm them by having a dozen arrive at once.

I've wondered this myself. As far as I can tell: they will use conventional ballistic missile defense (with improved/modified operations); lazers; railguns; or hypersonic misses themself

The greatest threat is tracking since hypersonic can change course rapidly
