Send and receive money through GitHub comments

Hi HN! We want your always honest and constructive feedback on https://givebk.io We've built a bot to make contributing as frictionless as it can be, users can send and receive money on Github by simply: 1) inviting the givebk-bot to an issue (chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/givebkio/flcilnfjp...) and

2) commenting ▷ @givebk-bot !give $X @user ◁

It's not an attempt to actually solve the OSS / maintainers monetization gap and unfairness (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19431444), but more so of an attempt to foster people to show gratitude by making it as frictionless and "impulsive" to give back as it can be.

We've built givebk as we believe gratitude can be expressed in many ways, but donating small monetary values to useful users could be particularly rewarding for the community. You can easily deposit/withdrawal your givebk balance through Stripe, anytime.

Please join us on spreading love by using givebk on github! A safe (soon cross-platform) and frictionless alternative to Github Sponsors.

Also, please share your thoughts with us about the following questions:

- we're starting with Github, but we have a broader intention of making "payment as text" a thing across any forum / social media;

- do you think frictionless payment "as text" can foster gratitude and peer to peer donations across communities? Why?

- we'd like our monetization to align with our values and purpose: not taking too much, not too little, please share your thoughts if 10% seems fair from your POV;

Thanks so much!
