I love reading through link directories. There's something so personal about how we curate the internet.

My linkroll[0] has been evolving for a few years now, and it's been a nice way to organize the sites that I want to remember. Every once in a while I'll go back through the list, and inevitably some of the pages are changed or even offline. It makes the internet feel alive.

This page is fantastic. I've only clicked through to a few of the sites so far and already feel like there's a real wealth here to explore. Thanks for curating it!

Hmmm; I remember DMOZ (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMOZ) in pre-google times, when finding anything on the internet using the existing search engines was so difficult that such a catalog was really useful. The feeling of joy I'm experiencing now seeing this new website makes me wonder if that's a sign that Google Search did indeed degrade more than I wanted to admit to myself...

Check out Curlie too. It's a successor to the DMOZ, being basically the same thing and created by many of the same people:

Well, if it's going to be a list, let me add:

https://peelopaalu.neocities.org/ (very recent stopped updating)

What is it actually?

Fun little reminder of why curated webrings only have nostalgic value and were never all that great - the first cooking website that I checked out from here (fitmencook.com) immediately had a fullscreen phishing ad that led to a virus download.

Sounds like this webring wasn't curated then.

great list! there were some websites like this with list of personal websites/blogs and i liked that. its basically a fundament of indieweb.
