It is common to celebrate your birthday as the start of a year, where in the west, we celebrate the actual day. I wonder as we move further in the future if everyone will use the actual day and calendar year just because it is another way to differentiate identity. And the way that we are using such information in the interconnected world largely needs it to be actual day, to be useful to identification.
