It isn't? NVIDIA just moved the vast majority of their drivers into the firmware, and now they are getting to act like they've done a great thing, when in reality they're just using the firmware backdoor to circumvent the kernel driver license gates.
marcan compared to the Apple GPUs, firmware of similar level of GPU is 400kb vs 34mb. [1]
