I have Digital hardware books from the 1970s. The "programmer's book" starts by explaining circuits.
These are priceless to me. I loved the PDP-11, especially the PDP11-03 which was a great machine.
I was disappointed i can't dump my -1979-1982 vintage CS texts on you: we rather scorned zx80/Sinclair devices, stupidly of course: access to mainframes meant we ignored an exciting new world emerging.
