There's probably some propaganda in here given the source, but honestly that's not a bad deal given the crappy situation.

Cars are pretty different from how they were just twenty years ago. Different propulsion, different fuel, totally new driver assistance features and tons more software. That probably leads to the need for different talent.

You'd think that but from TFA:

Ford Blue makes hybrid tech, and Ford Model e is responsible for EVs.

Pretty late in their product roll-out cycle to make this determination. And I wonder who in the org was qualified to decide who could and couldn’t be part of the new talent mix.

I always assume it is to avoid pension payouts until otherwise corrected.

Not to mention that they'll have to increasingly invest in infotainment and their software package as cars become places people spend more time (while charging)
