I think it's interesting. I'm pretty sure a lot of the "top talent" at FAANG (if we are still calling it that) are leaving in droves for similar reasons. I don't really care about what degrees he got or didn't get but I'm interested in who these people are, what they worked on, and how many of them are going to just go pursue their passions or whatever. For the last 15 years, our best and brightest have gone to these companies to build shit that we arguably maybe didn't need all these people to go do. Now who is going to maintain all of this? Are our frameworks and managers good enough to keep those ships running with code bootcamp folks? I don't know at all, but I do see that happening. I've worked for a FAANG company and have some friends that still do and most of them have enough money that they can do whatever they want. It seems that what most of them want is more control and not to be associated with the albatross. Maybe Elon will buy them all up and his college can crank out folks to maintain them or something.
You are right though, the details of whatever personal stuff he's saying to me at least, isn't that interesting. In aggregate with how the rest of the tech space is going, I think these posts are very interesting.
