Reminds me of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblique_Strategies which are a deck of cards by Brian Eno that are meant to help artists overcome creative blockage with unusual ideas.

Oblique Strategies is particularly useful because it doesn’t pretend to be giving you new ideas. Each card offers a new vector of approach that may be helpful if you’re stuck, but you need to have something to work on.

There's a similar commercial product I've used for mental warm-ups in my classrooms over the years: Rory's Story Cubes (plastic, in paper and plastic packaging).

I suggest making your own and using icons from The Noun Project (https://thenounproject.com) as stencils or inspiration for quick freehand pencil or woodburner. The barrier is higher, but the personalization potential is much greater. Not stressing about quality helps lower the barrier, and if the cubes are for personal use, all you need is good-enough representations.

For others' convenience:

On the Online dice I got:

> Portable, Underwater, Public, Organic, Electric, Tool

So I need to invent a tool using eels.

Maybe a taser to use on the beach.

I call it JUXTING

https://zeroprecedent.substack.com/p/a-technique-for-generat...

The result I got on page load was: Portable, Self-Build, Public, Paper, Manual, Vehicle.

I think the paper airplane has already been invented...

How about paper parachutes?

The real question is, "Can Invention Dice invent Invention Dice?"

that's the last example listed on the page.

Or, at least, dice in general.
