Blender is already great in terms of theoretical features, speed, cross-platform. However, IMHO whenever you reach a real world professional use case lying outside of animation or basic modeling (eg. architecture, CAD, CAM, etc.) its interfaces to industry standard file formats are without exception somewhere between poor to nonexistant. When I say industry standard I mean things like DWG, DXF, elevation diagrams in PDF, whatever.
The main effort to resolve this I am aware of is BlenderBIM https://blenderbim.org/features.html which uses IfcOpenShell https://github.com/IfcOpenShell/IfcOpenShell/ for vector and drawing output and would definitely be the right place for the developer of this extension to look for allies in building out export-to-drawing support.
