The End of Crypto-Fanaticism

If you're a sociopath running a pyramid scheme, climate change is probably pretty far down your list of priorities.
First, I don't understand the part about counterculture ending in the 70s, I see a direct lineage to my experience as a teenager in the 90s, both on the side of former neo-hippies and of lawmakers worried about the prospect of people thinking for themselves (which now has become unimaginably worse than 25 years ago).
On the libertarian side, there are two separate issues. Not being happy with a government controller financial system (in particular one in which the government can strangle its political enemies as Canada did recently) is not the same as supporting an ineffective solution, I.e. all current and imagined cryptocurrency implementations. Just because we don't like some features of the current system does not mean we automatically gravitate to some dumb idea. I guess that would be reserved for libertarians that also don't understand what crypto actually is, and just go along with it based on what someone told them it could do.
