I think that any topic on the "hype cycle" list brings non-technical people in to try and sell it. You could say the same thing about quantum computing or digital twins or chatbots or whatever. Crypto is only special because of what a scam it is.

Maybe I'd ask the OP, what does it mean to bring non-technical people into tech? Like teaching people to code, or become data scientists or something, or like applying some soft skills to tech, like AI ethics or sales. Or some other thing?
