Mental state at last day of job after spending many years

I recently felt that way (a year ago), and I felt immensely relieved and excited that I had made that decision. After being comfortable and decently happy in a job, I realised how much I needed to take that step it took me much time to take.

If you’re a professional, you (logically) clean up your desk as best you can and move on. It was never a good idea to be an asshole, but now things change in months rather than years. This means it’s far, far more likely to encounter people you did before and for your reputation to spread quickly. Screw that up and you’re going to suffer for a hell of a long time.

Remain somebody people want on the team.
