Interestingly, while the changelog says "Private profiles are in public beta" this is neither a 'feature preview' (in the top right profile dropdown) nor does /settings/profile indicate it's in beta.

I just get 500 on the homepage, and my profile also 500s when logged out. Most other things still seem to work, including https://github.com/settings/profile where I could turn it off.

Same. As soon as I made my profile private github.com started 500ing for me. It seems like none of the other pages I've hit are affected.

Edit: Spoke a little soon, my profile page is also 500 when logged out.
