Ask HN: What's the smallest company that has the most domains?

So I recently started thinking about how much it might cost Google to have so many different domain names. And then that got boring so I wondered if there are any companies outside of FAANG that have a similar amount of them. To spice this question up, I decided to take it to the extreme: "What's the smallest company that has the most domains?"

I know RealNames [1] owns a large amount of domain names ever since they purchased Mailbank and its list of surname domain names.

What's "so many"? I know private persons with 100+.

In 2000 I wrote a script that helped somebody register 1500 domains.

Is it ICANN?
