Stripe is hiring
We're currently hiring engineers and designers. We're looking for people who care deeply about quality of execution, who want to build technology that people love to use, and who are excited to make it easier to build a business on the web. If you think you'd enjoy the challenge of building a new piece of internet infrastructure, we definitely want to talk.
Signs you'd enjoy working at Stripe:
• You have a desire to build great systems.
• You've worked on extremely well-designed products.
• You enjoy working hard, figuring out what to work on, and then quickly learning what you need to get it done.
• You have a mental list of problems that you wish there were better answers to, and you'd like to help create those answers.
• You enjoy working in a team. You enjoy working alone.
And, for engineers:
• You love to code for fun.
• You enjoy reading and/or have written papers.
• You have a history of open-source contributions or a desire to write open-source code.
For designers:
• You enjoy designing user interaction as much as you do visual appearance.
Who we are:
https://stripe.com/about lists the team so far. We're good friends and enjoy spending time together. We like people who are sociable, who can debate without animosity, and who make others want to be around them.
We don't have much hierarchy, and the people making product decisions are also the ones implementing them. Our office is in downtown Palo Alto, though people sometimes work from home or cafes in San Franscisco.
Stripe's investors include Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator, Andreessen Horowitz, Peter Thiel, and Elon Musk.
To apply, get in touch at jobs@stripe.com:
• List five or more things you'd fix in the current implementation of Stripe (they don't have to be big).
• Describe the thing you've built that you're most proud of. Something used only within a company is ok.
• If you've worked on anything with more than 50,000 users, we'd be very curious to hear about that too.
• Include your GitHub, Twitter, and/or Dribbble usernames, if you have them.
• If you're a designer, we'd love to see a portfolio, along with a list of products whose visual and user interaction design you admire. (They can be different lists.)
