Coteditor is a really curious piece of software. I tried it out while trying to find a basic text editor for Mac, and it genuinely puzzled me. I love the language support, the editor itself and the licensing, but there's a number of really strange design choices. For one, you can't change the garish green accent, and what little theming options it does have is... inconsistent? The search and replace function was completely broken when I tried it, and the whole program feels uncharacteristically slow for a simple text editor. Lots to love, but a lot that left me scratching my head. I've stuck with iTerm and Micro since then, but I do long for a simple, robust GUI text editor for Mac. Maybe I need to cave and use Geany?
