UN warns Earth ‘firmly on track toward an unlivable world’

Human *ingenuity* can get us out again.

Asking countries to limit their production is just not feasible.

It's very easy to describe what an ideal world "would" look like. I mean if there was no crime the world would be awesome, but we aren't going to kindly ask all human's to be better. That's what religion is for. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

The UN would do better to invest in actual ingenuity, in efforts to make our species multiplanetary, better renewable energy sources, radically new city living ideas, whatever it is. Get people behind exciting ideas!

Ringing the bell and saying the world is going to end is just not going to achieve any meaningful result. Humanity has overcome incredible odds, mostly by ignoring those bell ringers. Nihilism is easy.

For all the world 3 model got shit, it still seems to be accurate.

But yet there is a raft of people who seem to line up to say it is wrong year after year.

But year after year it has been right on track.

Limits to growth terrified me as a kid, and it terrifies me today.
