Ask HN: Does your office have big screens showing motivational stats?

A famous example is the 2010 movie The Social Network, where they show a scene of facebook's office with a giant screen showing the number of users.

Is this sort of thing common in the valley?

Does it help

I'm not in the valley, but every office I've worked in has had these. It was mostly a way to just keep the work environment from looking too stagnant. If these boards had information on them that were useful, they would usually be filled up with more than just some graphs and things and would be accessed by whoever needed to monitor the platform from their own devices. That said, it was fun to make these visuals with things like Geckoboard
