Xi Editor – modern editor with a back end written in Rust

From the GitHub repo¹:

"Maintenance status: The xi-editor project is not currently under active development. Although we will happily accept bug fixes, no new features are currently planned. We would like to revisit writing a text editor again at some point in the future, but for the time being our attention is elsewhere." — The Editors

written in rust won't make me use it

however, features X, Y, Z than other editors doesn't have might make me want to use it

but that's not the case, so what is the point?

who is the target of such projects?

it's endemic with "written in rust" projects

a waste of opportunities, at some point it's being seen as spam, "written in rust" without bringing much new bits
