Good. There's nothing more insulting than discovering that you were hired not for your technical merits or capabilities, but for the color of your skin.

To add on further injury, all the feigned niceties and politeness go out the window once you actually start working together. Then all the unconscious biases are on display.

Good luck talking about this because none of your coworkers are racist - they all took diversity training.

I think I would feel more insulted if I discovered that I was rejected based on the color of my skin.

After recently making it through 2/3 interview sessions for a very niche technical role, I was told I was exactly what they were looking for, but that I wouldn't be allowed to proceed to the final round interview with the manager until they had found a "diverse" candidate to interview... ended up accepting an offer from another company 2 weeks later

The whole concept of quotas based on an immutable characteristic, while potentially of noble intent, would likely become disastrous in practice. Good to see California courts have erred on the side of constitutionality.
