An entire news article about how essentially "you" derive life satisfaction from your job. Late-stage capitalism at it's finest, which is ironic because it is an article about the mental quagmire that corporate work is and the effect it can have on people.
It is very coloured towards the "you're slacking off and slacking off is bad" part. Maybe people have just found their optimal efficiency and are being paid for the work they actually contribute, instead of what it looks like they're achieving when they have to pretend to work at 100% efficiency for 8 hours in an office envionment? If the company isn't satisfied with the results of labor, it is its responsibility to raise the issue with the employee and renegotiate terms. It's not "checked out", its providing exactly the value of work that you're paid for, but without the corporate bullshit.
