I'm one of the co-founders of the company behind JSFIX.

We're a small research spin-out working on static analysis for solving various dependency-related problems.

Auto-patching code sounds crazy, but cool if it works

Indeed, it is infeasible to do in all scenarios.

It uses a fallback mechanism where it explains in English how to manually make the patch in case auto-patching is infeasible.
