FSD on my Model Y keeps me on my toes. Not only do I look out for vehicles, pedestrians, and wild animals, I also have to be ready to take over if it slams on the brakes on the freeway or decides the safest way to navigate a gradual corner on a highway is by having the left wheels on the centerline. I'm holding out hope.

The FSD Beta videos all look like drivers education instructor simulators.

A few weeks ago someone asked me if they should buy FSD and I said I would wait until 1) the automakers are forced to provide insurance 2) they pay you to be a beta tester.

I own a model Y too. It is a great family car. But I am skeptical of FSD right now.

The fact that they have to add the adjective “full” to self driving is a clear sign that it is not capable of self driving.

All you have to do it drive into a sunrise/sunset, around corners, in and out of the sun, and my Tesla will disengage. I expect someone could demonstrate that Tesla is never able to pass this test with its current sensors, and argue that Tesla promises that it will be self driving, which would require the ability to pass this test. Therefore Tesla will never meet the standard of self driving, and should be refunded.

Or put more simply, "Tesla Ordered to Issue Refund for Defective Product"

If only it was as easy to return vehicles as it is any regular consumer good.
