How do we produce most of the energy at the moment ?
(In before "we just need to cover the Sahara with solar panels and we'll be good").
To reduce CO2 emission, we have a way simpler path: just reduce our energy consumption. This should be 90% of the effort. All the other techniques in the articles might be interesting but are just "good to add" on top of the rest.

It is less effort to transition to clean energy than to convince energy consumers to consume less (although, in developed countries, energy use has plateaued; it's natural that per capita energy use will rise in developing countries, and renewables should be there to meet that increase in demand).
Yes, we should consume less. The energy we consume should also consume less.
