Ask HN: How do you make money in your free time?

Have you considered technical writing? There are some companies who pay as much as $500/article.

Can you point any of us in the right direction? I do a lot of technical writing as it is, and wouldn't mind some extra scratch.

I know Twilio pays $500/Python language article.

It's managed by Miguel Grinberg (of Flask fame).

I know Digitalocean too has a generous writing program, but I am not too sure about the price/article, but it should be in the $400-500/article range.

In my case part time with a startup, MERN development(Have full time job as well). If you have any useful skills or services you can provide you can post about it in the monthly Freelancer, and Who wants to be hired posts. The next one will be at the beginning of April. That's how i got this gig

If you are a student, tutoring should be easy. Your campus may have official list of tutors. Or you can just post flyers in coffee shops and other places where students hangout.
