I was going to say that those temperatures sounded not a lot colder than my native Iowa, but apparently Iowa’s coldest month averages 55 degrees F (absurd) according to: https://en.climate-data.org/north-america/united-states-of-a...
Climate data is usually by city, since (say) Sioux City and Cedar Rapids may have totally different climates.
Averages from Des Moines (middle of Iowa) https://weatherspark.com/y/10312/Average-Weather-in-Des-Moin...
Jan high of 33° F
Edit: looks like the original link was climate data for a town called Iowa in the state of Louisiana https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa,_Louisiana
