Really, really far ahead. Just imagine the infrastructure they have right now collecting all of the internet activity in the entire US through fiber backbones. I remember reading that Britain some years ago was collecting 200+ PB of data daily and storing it for a month. That blew my mind, one can only imagine what they’re doing here in the US.
