The most difficult part of FromSoftware's success formula to replicate is their... success. Like creating masterpiece after masterpiece that has earned them a reputation of being one of the very best game studios on the planet. Even if you have never played one of their games you've heard of them and their exceptional quality. The trust that their customers have in them is impossible to buy or replicate.

Indeed.

It is extremely rare for a giant hype squad of fans to rally around a highly anticipated game and that the launch, gameplay and overall story does not fall under expectations. That is the case for this game.

It just takes one fuck up and the fans will complain. Happened with Cyberpunk 2077 or Fallout 76.

Then I should expect them not to be sought after for acquisition by other large games companies due to exceeding such quality expectations. If that happened, would they still 'trust' them?

We'll see. But I'll be very surprised if this game fails to win multiple Game of the Year awards.
