Couldn't resist when I saw Tinder for the other day! Thanks https://twitter.com/DasSurma for making the source code for Tinder for Bananas available!

I couldn't bring myself to swipe left on any of them.

Nice and simple OP! Looking at the telltale odd, sometimes distorted background of the cats, I could immediately recognize this as "this cat does not exist". Indeed the project's README confirms it.

I thought something was odd. None of those cats seemed real, and I clicked "dismiss" on all of them.

I must have gotten catfished

Suggestion to rename it to Tinpurr

I am disappointed that you didn't use https://thecatapi.com for your feline data source.

According to the linked Github project, "This page uses images from This Cat Does Not Exist, and random profiles from Twitter Bio Generator."

But I really wish I could submit my own.

Yeah I saw that they have an images directory in the GitHub source.. so the cats are limited and static. Thecatapi has a purfect selection of cats compared to this

Must be bugged, seems like none of these cats like me back ;)

Isn’t that what a cat does?

If it does like you it’ll promptly scratch and bite you for deigning to touch its belly for a single millisecond too long.

Are all these cats real? Or, are they generated by some sort of deep generative model?

Looking for some catnip & chill?

Sorry, my cat does not do drugs!

That’s what the comment mentioning “this cat does not exist” is referring to.

Ah, missed that one.

The faces were weird to look at. Too many of them.

The best I have seen in the "X does not exist" category is https://thisbeachdoesnotexist.com .

This is hilarious. This is exact idea of my parents had for an app.

Now for dogs too: http://tinder4dog.com/

This would be very nice for an animal adoption center.

This has been tried, at least for dogs. It doesn't exist for a variety of reasons, but I cannot find any articles about why it failed and I only have second hand knowledge.

Was there a HotOrNot for bananas and cats?

What kind of cold hearted person swipes left??

Images arent loading half the time

Well done!

Where are the IG handles? Where are the "self employed content creators"? Where are the rants about height? How about the bios that only consist of "guess my breed"?

2/10 for being true to the medium

10/10 for cats

I'm glad that I missed out on this era of dating (by being married).

Tinder is the new way to say "Hey baby" at a bar, not the new way to meet someone and slowly get to like them more and more. Everything that existed previously is still there, it just takes more courage than letting a computer do the hard part for you.

I'm glad that I missed out on this era of dating (by having cats). ;)

Oddly enough, I ended up with both a wife and cats. I was happy with one cat, but she wanted more than that. We compromised and now have four.

My two cats would like me to have at least four or more spouses, so they get more attention and fed more often.

Yes, that's why I had children. This way the cats can pretend that someone else didn't feed them and get a second helping.
