Apple does not appear to be against such efforts and does not appear to raise any road blocks. The only slow down is that the community is on it's own with regards to drivers, especially GPU. But these are solvable.
Linux on Apple might actually be quite interesting.
It was also super good to learn about the absurdly bad sync perf on the SSDs that we may not have otherwise heard about.
